Biratnagar : President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Govinda Acharya, has said that readers evaluate journalists as no one is above the citizen.
At an interaction organised by Morang chapter of FNJ here on Sunday, President Acharya stressed that media persons should carry out their duty being responsible to the society.
Clarifying that journalists should always be in favour of national welfare, democracy, press freedom and freedom of expression, he expressed the belief that they should follow journalist code of conduct while using social sites.
Similarly, central committee member of Socialist Party, Ramrijhan Yadav, said that there should not be political interference in journalism. Likewise, FNJ State President, Bikram Luintel, said that one can reach to right destination only after following discipline in journalism while President of Morang Chamber of Commerce, Prakash Mundada, stressed that the role of media is crucial in building a prosperous nation.
