Transforming sports into industry on priority, Minister says

Kaski, March 10: Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Biswokarma has laid emphasis on 
transforming sports into industry.

Minister Biswokarma said this in his address to the concluding ceremony of the Gandaki State level selection round competition for the 8th National Sports Tournament.
The government is committed to prepare the base for prosperity through sports tourism citing reference of developed countries that made progress on tourism promotion through sports industry.
Athletes and players from new generation would not come to sports sector until their future is secured, he said, adding, “Prosperity of sports could not be imagined until and unless the future of players is secured. The government has put incentives of the players on priority”.
He also informed that the government has endorsed a working procedure for the construction of sports village each in seven provinces and 753 local levels.
The Minister also expressed his confidence that the infrastructure development would end the problem being faced by the sports sector.
