Gandhi’s life a message of peace for world: Ex-President Yadav

Kathmandu : Former President Dr Rambaran Yadav has said life of the Mahatma Gandhi, a precursor
 of nonviolence, would be a message of peace for the world.

Inaugurating a photo exhibition organized jointly by the Indian Ministry of Culture, and Indian Embassy in Nepal at Nepal Arts Council on Thursday, the former President Dr Yadav asserted that big change could be achieved with the means of nonviolence and peace propounded by Gandhi. Gandhi had not only connected the people and the intellectuals but also inspired for harmony between Hindu and Muslim community.
“Being influenced by the Gandhian thoughts, I have been repeatedly calling on all communities in Nepal to forge unity and work together,” he reminded.
On the occasion, former Speaker Damannath Dhungana viewed that Ghandhi had a significant role on peaceful democratic movement in South Asia.
Lawmaker Pradeep Giri also reminded that Gandhi is not only an inspiring figure for India but for all humankind to work for peace.
Various photos depicting Gandhi’s life are put on display. The exhibition runs for a week.
