Democracy, press freedom inseparable: NC President Deuba

Bhimdattanagar : The main opposition Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the democracy can not exist without press freedom.
While inaugurating the 5th district convention of Nepal Press Union Kanchanpur here today, President Deuba argued that the democracy and press freedom could not be separated.
On another note, he blamed that the federal government did not allocate required budget for the holistic development of the far western province.
He also focused on constructing four-lane bridge over the Mahakli River.
Speaking in the same programme, NC central leaders NP Saund and Rameskh Lekhak viewed that press freedom was essential to enhance democracy in the country.
