NSU leaders including chair Mahar arrested

Kathmandu, Feb 5 : Police here have arrested Nepal Students Union leaders including its Chair Nain Singh Mahar from the capital city on Tuesday.

The student leaders were arrested when they were moving towards District Administration Office Kathmandu, Babarmahal, to stage a sit-in, demanding the release of its cadres detained on the charge of their alleged involvement in torching the government vehicle in Pokhara last week.
The arrestees are NSU leaders Navin Rai, Dambar Sunar, Sanjeev Dhakal, Sanjeev Khadka, Sagar Pandey and Shankar Khadka.
According to Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Circle Spokesperson Hobindra Bogati, they were arrested as they were trying to enter the area restricted for demonstration.
