Baniyani : Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitoula has said that disenchantment in the people has been increasing due to feeble government and helpless opposition.
Talking to reporters at his home town in Bhadrapur today, leader Sitoula said the present government with a strong majority has failed to meet the people’s expectation. “There was a huge expectation from the government with a two-thirds majority,” he said, “however, it has not been met.” The Congress in the opposition too has not been able to play any significant role.
The country faced a 10-year-old conflict as the then leadership of the NC failed to perform as per the time following 1990 and the present government should take heed from the past and work in favour of the people. “Otherwise, federalism, democracy and republic will be jeopardized.”
On the occasion, leader Sitoula also emphasized on the need to transform the Congress as per federal structure and go to the door steps of the people. The NC Mahasamiti has already endorsed a proposal to take action against those involved in the wide-body aircraft scam, he added.
