HAAN withdraws all programmes of protest

Kathmandu : The agitating Health Assistants Association of Nepal (HAAN) has withdrawn all its
 programmes of protest.

HAAN withdrew its agitation after senior leadership at the Ministry of Health and Population agreed to address the major demands raised by the Association. The HAAN had been agitating for the past 11 days demanding amendment to some provisions in the employees’ adjustment act, health service act and structures of health service.
The agreement was reached on Friday between the talks team constituted by the Ministry and the office-bearers of HAAN, according to central member HAAN Udaya Mahato. The agreement was signed by the Director General of the Department of Health Services Dr Gunaraj Lohani and others and by Mahato and others on behalf of HAAN.
