Jitpur, Kapilvastu, Nov 24 : An unidentified group of three persons shot dead a provincial assembly independent member Dipendra Kumar Chaudhary in Kapilvastu on Friday night. Chaudhary died on the way to Bhairahawa where he was referred by a local hospital at Suddhodhan Rural Municipality-4. Chaudhary was shot at 9 pm on the road near his house in the locality, said Inspector Santosh Pokharel. Some used bullet casings were recovered from the incident site, and some people have been arrested in connection with the incident, he said, adding that the search for the assailants has been launched.
Chaudhary, 30, won from Kapilvastu constituency 1 (B) in the Provincial Assembly elections last year.
