DNA test in forensic lab as well

Kathmandu  : Nepal Police has said that the DNA samples collected in connection with the rape and murder of Nirmala Pant were tested in the National Forensic Laboratory as well.

According to police spokesperson Sailesh Thapa, the DNA samples of suspended Superintendent of Police Dilli Raj Bista, his son Kiran Raj and local resident Ayush Bista were examined both at the Forensic lab as well as at the central forensic laboratory of Nepal Police. In response to misleading news report in regards to the DNA testing, the Police has clarified that the test was also carried out at the lab under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
