HURPES expresses concern over increasing criminal cases

Kathmandu, Aug 8 : The Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) has expressed concern over increasing incidents of rape, kidnap, untouchability and violence against women in different parts of the country.

A press release issued on Wednesday by HURPES General-Secretary Uttam Pudasaini demanded the government to ensure peace, justice and good governance by taking legal action against those involved in such crime.
The organisation has asked the government to bring those involved in such crime under the ambit of law as such incidents are increasing due to impunity.
Urging to make public the truth after carrying out investigation into alleged incidents of extra-judicial killings, the statement draw’s the government’s attention to follow United Nations Charter for law enforcement and to respect human rights in every context.
