Chumlingtar bus accident: Death toll reaches eight

Chitwan, July 27 : The number of death toll of bus accident occurred this morning at Chumlingtar, Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-3 has reached eight. A total of 17 persons were injured, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.
Those deceased are Arjun Neupane, 32, of Begnas Kalika Rural Municipality of Palpa district, Sumit Shrestha, 27, of Bhanu Municipality-5, Kamala Shrestha, 27, of Bhansar, Baburam Tiwari, 40, of Keshavtar in Tanahu and an Indian national Phiroj Miya.
However, identity of a woman and a child is yet not confirmed.
Of the injured, six are receiving treatment at Purano Medical College and four in Manakamana Hospital in Chitwan while five are being treated in Manipal Hospital, Pokhara. Similarly, one each is getting treatment in Chhauni Hospital and Gajuri Hospital.
According to the District Police Office, the condition of five is critical.
The bus (Na 6 Kha 2506) en route to Pokhara from Kathmandu plunged into the bank of Trishuli River at 11:55 Friday morning after colliding with a truck.
Police shared that the bus was carrying 30 passengers from the capital city.
