Nidhi demands medical education bill in line with ordinance

Kathmandu, July 25 : Nepali Congress Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi today suggested bringing the National Medical Education Bill in line with the Medical Education Ordinance issued by the erstwhile Nepali Congress-led government to resolve the issue relating to Dr Gobinda KC’s demands.

The NC-led government did its best to resolve Dr KC’s demands, he said referring the Mathema Commission formed by late NC President Sushil Koirala-led government in collaboration with all concerned authorities and the ordinance issued by NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government in line with the spirit of the Commission.

Nidhi was speaking at an interaction organised here on the occasion of the 36th B.P. Memorial Day by the Nepal Press Union.
On the occasion, NC General Secretary Dr Shashanka Koirala remembered B.P. Koirala as a democrat fighting for whole life for democracy, people’s rights and press freedom. He also stressed the need for the Press to work incessantly to safeguard the constitution and democracy.

Other speakers like the Union’s President Badri Sigdel, senior Vice President Dipak Acharya and General Secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Ramesh Bista among others said encroachments on press freedom is not tolerable.
