Kathmandu, July 11 : Number of branches of commercial banks has reached 6,418 as of June 14 of the current fiscal year.
While unveiling the monetary policy for coming fiscal year, Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr Chiranjibi Nepal shared that the branches of Nepal Banijya Bank have reached 2,919 in number.
According to the Governor, total branches have reached 6, 418 including 951 of development banks, 183 of finance companies and 2,365 of microfinance institutions.
Recently around 4,490 clients can receive services from each branch of the bank and financial institution. The commercial banks have expanded their presence in 556 out of 753 local levels under the federal system.
