Kathmandu, July 5 : Main opposition Nepali Congress has concluded that the decision taken by the government on Wednesday was an open invitation for the opponents for conflict.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday had decided to annul all political appointments made after August 30, 2017 to various ministries, corporations, councils, board and organised institutions, by the then government after the election code of conduct was introduced for the House of Representatives and National Assembly elections 2074.
Organizing a news conference today, NC spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma claimed that the government was moving ahead arbitrarily.
Sharma said that the decisions regarding the appointments were made after completing all processes by taking permission from the Election Commission by the erstwhile government under the leadership of Sher Bahadur Deuba.
NC has been stating that the ordinance on medical education was against the medical education reform and welfare of the public.
Sharma shared that the NC-led government had formulated the bill and issued an ordinance by considering the people’s sentiments and the report of the Mathema Commission.
He said, “Recent Medical Education Ordinance is against the essence of Ordinance issued by the NC-led government as well as it would encourage the government protected institutional in the medical education sector.” Sharma warned that the incumbent government may have to face backlash from all quarters if the current Ordinance is forwarded.
The Parliament would face additional pressure if going against the spirit of the constitution continues, giving an instance of breaching the Article 91 (2) of the constitution that requires Speaker and Deputy Speaker from different political parties, he said.
