Kathmandu, June 16 : Nepali Congress leader Dr Shekhar Koirala on Saturday accused the ruling Communist Party of Nepal of trying to impose totalitarianism under the weight of two-thirds majority in Parliament.
Latest incidents of attacks on court and press are testimonial to this effect, he said at the third convention of Palpa-Kathmandu liaison committee of Nepali Congress here.
NC could lead a campaign against totalitarianism, he stressed while pointing out purification within the party itself.
NC leader Gagan Thapa said the NC fears that democratic system and constitution implementation could take a back seat.
The convention will pick a new leadership of the committee.
