Prosperity unlikely without development of culture, arts: Minister Adhikari

Kathmandu, May 19 : Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari has said that country’s overall development was not likely without development of culture and arts.
At a programme on ‘Culture for Prosperity’ organized in the capital city on Saturday, Minister Adhikari said the country cannot be regarded as the prosperous one until the development of literature, arts and culture.
On the occasion, he said that the government was working for social justice, employment generation and end to poverty in the country to achieve the major goal of making people happy.
Likewise, General Manager of Cultural Corporation Rajesh Thapa said that arts, culture and amazing heritages left by our ancestors have glorified out identity across the globe and urged all for their active participation to keep our arts, cultures and music alive.
Also speaking at the programme, chairman of Madan Bhandari Arts Literary Academy Dr Bijay Subba said that progressive literary figures should be honoured for their lifelong contributions to the country’s arts and cultures.
In the event, Dr Devi Nepal, Dr Krishna Prasad Ghimire, Dr Bindu Sharma, Ram Binaya, Ram Prasad Gyawali, Bidhan Acharya, Laxmi Mali, Anita Lama, Bina Thing, Ramesh Shubhechchhuk, RM Dangol and others recited their literary creations.
