Lawmakers utilize special hour to inform lower house about contemporary issues

Kathmandu, May 16 : Most of lawmakers speaking in a special hour of meeting of the House of Representatives today drew the attention of government and parliament towards contemporary issues concerning their home districts.
Bharat Bahadur Singh demanded compensation and relief assistance to farmers in Bajhag district. Recent hailstone coupled with rain damaged wheat and barley crops and vegetables and fruits in the district. He urged the government to provide relief assistance to the family of those five who were killed by a landslide in the district. The Jayaprithvi Highway has been disrupted by the landslide.
Dilendra Parasad Badu, informing the lower house about the death of two crew members in the crash of today’s Makalu cargo aircraft in Humla, drew the attention of the government toward taking measures to avert recurring of such incident in future.
Anjana Bisankhe accused that the government mechanism was itself supporting the situation of people facing death for inter-caste marriage. She took the time to inform the house about developments related to the inter-caste wedlock between Kalpana Parajuli and Ajit Mijar in Kavrepalanchwok district.
