Disruption of water supply affects 200,000 locals

Kathmandu, May 10 : Water supply to various parts of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14 Balkhu has been disrupted after distribution pipes were damaged.
Locals at Balkhu, Kuleshwar, Kalimati, Bhimsensthan, Kalanki and Baphal were facing hardship not getting drinking water for few days. The water supply pipes were damaged and cut off in the area in course of expanding the road section last week.
Around 200,000 locals were directly affected due to supply disruption. Metropolitan Police Range Balkhu chief Arun Chaudhary, police, Water Supply Corporation among other locals was making coordination to solve the problem.
However, local Kumari Club chair Mohan Basnet has urged the government to address the problems soon.
