Rights of workers not fulfilled: Leader Nepal

Kathmandu, May 3 : CPN (UML) leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that although the constitution has guaranteed rights of workers, it has not been implemented yet.
Addressing a seminar and meeting of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU)-Nepal here today, leader Nepal said that all trade unions should be united to empower workers. The workers would always be dominated until their rights are guaranteed, he added.
Also the former Prime Minister, Nepal stressed the need of launching campaign to change the society. Leader Nepal further said that although there was representation of women in Parliament, women of rural areas still have no access to it.
Similarly, President of the WFTU, Mzwandile Michael, said that expansionism and capitalism are interfering upon the workers in the world, so it was necessary to fight against it.
Michael expressed the view that the seminar would help establish rights of workers of Nepal.
Likewise, Chairperson of Professionals Alliance for Peace and Democracy (PAPAD), Premal Kumar Khanal, said that workers of Nepal are not getting decent wages. The meeting has formed a Nepal Coordination Committee of 17-member Federation under coordination of Khanal.
PAPAD, National Employees’ Federation of Nepal, All Nepal Trade Union Federation, Nepal Progressive Trade Union Federation, Nepal Inclusive Trade Union Federation, Nepal Trade Union Federation, National Democratic Confederation of Nepalese Trade Union, Nepal and National Democratic Confederation of Nepalese Trade Union are associated with WFTU.
