NC CWC meet could not begin formally

Kathmandu, April 28 : As the debate continued over the accountability for the party’s defeat in the recent polls, the formal meeting of the central working committee (CWC) of the Nepali Congress has not started till late evening.
The meeting was called for 9:00 on Saturday morning.
The top leaders are consulting informally regarding the ways to address the issues raised during the previous meetings.
NC spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said that informal meeting is ongoing to address the party’s internal issue and set the upcoming programmes.
On Saturday, NC general secretary Shashanka Koirala was scheduled to table the review of the election and upcoming programmes and wrap up the meeting after party President Sher Bahadur’s response.
In the CWC, the leaders of President Deuba and Ram Chandra Poudel camps were wrangling over the party’s defeat in the polls and leadership.
Youth leaders Gagan Thapa, Pradip Poudel and others have said that the party president should take responsibility of party’s defeat in the polls while leaders close to Deuba have said that it was a collective responsibility.
