Kathmandu : Newly elected President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that she would perform her role as ensured by the Constitution of Nepal in favor of the nation and people.
Assuming her office in Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas today, President Bhandari said that the country has entered into a crucial phase of constitution’s implementation and pledged to fulfill the responsibility given to her through the people’s representatives.
The President also lauded the support from all sides as per Nepal’s foreign policy’s main goal to establish harmonious relations with all the nations in the world based on goodwill, mutual benefits and respect.
Likewise, President Bhandari thanked Nepali citizens at home and abroad, government, political parties, civil servants, civil society and the media for their support and goodwill received during her 28-month-long first tenure in the office.
Earlier today, President Bhandari took oath of office from Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli.
