Damauli, Tanahun, Feb 19 (RSS): Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel today stressed the need for protecting and promoting democracy for economic development and social transformation in the country.
He also pointed out the role of all Nepali people to make democracy alive at a programme organised by the District Coordination Committee (DCC), Tanahun to mark the 68th Democracy Day.
Other participants like parliamentary member Kalika Khan, National Assembly member Prakash Pantha, provincial members Dobate B.K. and Sarita Gurung, former lawmaker Ram Chandra Pokharel, alternative central member of the CPN (UML) Pratap Lal Shrestha, DCC Chief Shanti Raman Wagle and Deputy Chief Pabitra Poudel and mayor of Byas Municipality Baikuntha Neupane underscored the need for conserving norms and values of democracy.
