waraj calls on PM Deuba, congratulates for successful completion of elections

Kathmandu : Visiting External Affairs Minister of India, Sushma Swaraj, today called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at the latter’s official residence, Baluwatar.
During the meeting, matters relating to Nepal-India relations and mutual interests took place were discussed, according to Prime Minister’s foreign affairs advisor Dr Dinesh Bhattarai.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister expressed his hope that such friendly visit would help further consolidate the bilateral ties between the two neighbours in the days ahead.
The Indian Minister congratulated the Prime Minister and government on the successful completion of the three-tier elections-local, provincial and federal as per the new constitution, wishing for the institutionalisation of democracy in Nepal.

Swaraj who arrived here on a two-day visit had called on the President today.
Meanwhile, Minister Swaraj returned home after completing her visit. Minister of State for Finance, Uday Shamser Rana, India’s Ambassador for Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Nepal-based Indian Embassy were at Tribhuvan International Airport to see her off.
During the visit, Minister Swaraj called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and held separate meetings with various political leaders.
