Blacktopping of Nepalgunj airport’s runway begins

Khajura, Banke : Blacktopping of the Nepalgunj Airport’s runaway has begun. With this, evening flights here are to be closed for 35 days.
According to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Nepalgunj office chief, Pratapbabu Tiwari, the airport remains closed from 3:00 pm to 6:00 am regularly as the blacktopping of its runway has already started. Area covered by the airport apron and the taxi parking zone will be also blacktopped by adding one layer to the existing surface.
Flights in remaining hours are regular. Disruption of evening flights is likely to affect passengers in the winter when morning flights are normally irregular due to adverse weather conditions. At normal time, the airport based in Ranjha makes around 18 flights to Kathmandu and hilly districts in the Karnali zone every day.
