Lahan : The District Public Health Office (DPHO), Siraha has handed over 70 more health institutions under its subordination to the local-level. According to office chief Dr Chumanlal, management and operation responsibilities of health institutions were given to the local-level as per new provisions in the federal setup. The local-level has so far officially got the responsibility of operating health facilities based in Mirchaiya Municipality, Kajarnaha Municipality, Bishnupur Rural Municipality, Aurahi Rural Municipality, Bhagawanpur Rural Municipality, Laxmipur Patari Rural Municipality, Nawarajpur Rural Municipality and Anarsha Rural Municipality . Likewise, those situated in the Sukhipur Municipality, Lahan Municipality, Dhangadhimai Rural Municipality, Siraha Municipality, Kalyanpur Municipality, Naraha Rural Municipality and Sakhuwannkarkatti Rural Municipality are in the process of handover. The district has two government hospitals, 104 health posts, three urban clinics and one community health unit in the district, the office said.
