MMC clinches Duhabi Manmohan Gold Cup title

Itahari, Sunsari  : The Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC), Kathmandu defeated Tribhuvan Army 2-1 in the 2nd Duhabi Manmohan Gold Cup Football Tournament held at Duhabi stadium in Sunsari on Saturday.
In the first half, the match tied 1-1 before the Club’s Bimal Rana scored a decisive goal in the 59th minutes, leading to a win.
As for the Army, Nawayug Shrestha registered a goal in the 17th minutes taking a lead. In response, the Club’s Bishal Rai equaled by scoring a goal for his team in the 27th minutes.
Meanwhile, prizes and trophies were distributed amid a programme organised following the match.
The winner received a shield and Rs 400,000 in cash, while the first runner up a shield and Rs 200,000 in cash.
The Club’s Sujal Shrestha was declared best player, and received Rs 25,000 in cash. The Club’s Rai was declared man of the match, and was handed out Rs 10,000 in cash.
Anil Gurung, Patrick Aussems, both of the Club, and the Army’s Bharat Khawas claimed the titles of best forward, best defense and best midfielder respectively. They received Rs 10,000 in cash each.
The Army’s Nawayug made hat-trick. He was handed out Rs 10,000 in cash.
