Hami Saranarthi’ to hit the screens tomorrow

Baniyani (Jhapa) : ‘Hami Saranarthi’ will be hitting the screens across the country from August 24.

The movie based on the story of Bhutanese refugees will premiere at the cinema halls simultaneously, it was disclosed at a press conference held in Birtamode of Jhapa on Tuesday. The movie title translates as ‘We the Refugees’.

On the occasion, Executive Director, Krishna Pokharel, said the movie depicts the Bhutanese refugees’ pain and suffocation of being forced out of their homeland and for having to live the life of refugees.

“We made the movie by reflecting the pain of having to live in a foreign land by leaving the native land,” Pokharel said, adding “The aim of the movie is to spread the sufferings of the Bhutanese refugees to the national and international communities.”

The movie produced at a cost of Rs 9.5 million is 2 hours and 52 minutes long with at least four songs. The movie features Jivan Bhattarai as the lead actor, actress Shilpa Pokharel among Nayan Ghimire, Bikram Shrestha, Bhumika Upreti and Pratima Rasaili.
