Need of inspiring figure felt in NC: Senior leader Poudel

Kathmandu : Senior leader of Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel has admitted that NC witnessed loss owing to the lack of inspiring figure in the party.

During a programme organized on ‘GP and Workers’ Movement’ on the occasion of 94th birthday of GP Koirala on Friday, senior leader Poudel argued that NC met the present fate as it did not find the leadership of GP Koirala’s stature.

The programme was organized by the GP Koirala Labour Foundation.
He reminded that that only Girijababu had the capacity to take ahead country with adroit handling of peace and conflict. The late Koirala worked tremendously for the party, democracy and the country, added leader Poudel.

“Today, all are willing to become BP Koirala now, but forgetting the role of Subarna Shumsher and GP Koirala behind the making of BP Koriala. So, concerted efforts are imperative to restore the party status,” he underscored.
On the occasion, lawmaker Ramhari Khatiwada said the role played by GP Koirala is unrivaled in terms of dealing with workers’ issues in Nepali politics.

He also pointed out the leadership flaw, which, he argued, must come to an end.
Also speaking on the occasion was former chairman of Nepal Trade Union Congress, Laxman Bahadur Basnet.
