Home Minister directs Nepal Police to seek solutions from within

Kathmandu, June 8: Home Minister Janardan Sharma has directed the Nepal Police to seek the solutions of problems from within the organization, being based on the established principles and the rule.
Inspecting the Police Headquarters on Thursday, Home Minister Sharma said the problems in the police organization could be solved with collective efforts and rendered service to the nation. The chain of command should be bolstered and made systematic, he said, adding that he was ready to bring reform in the related issues as career development, resources, physical infrastructures, and training.

According to him, active and empowered human resources, political stability and will power could help bring change for the development and prosperity in the country. It would obviously change reform in the peace and security sector, he added. People could be involved in the process of maintaining peace and security, counter terrorism, crime investigation, and border security, he suggested.
He informed that government has paid attention on devising the provincial and federal structure of the Nepal Police.
On the occasion, Inspector General of Nepal Police, Prakash Aryal stressed that Nepal Police was committed to performing as per the direction of the Home Minister.
In course of the inspection, Home Minister, through a video conference, appreciated the role Nepal Police played to make the first round of local level election very successful.
