100 days’ of government a dull show with malpractices: Nepali Congress

Kathmandu, May 25 : The major opposition Nepali Congress has commented that the 100 days of the government were full of malpractices. It was a dull show, the opposition added.
Issuing a press statement Friday, NC Spokesperson Bishwoprakash Sharma said although his party was not commenting government’s 100 days in a discouraging manner, it was opposition’s duty to point out government’s mistakes.
The beginning of the aberration could be traced back to the Prime Minister’s oath taking before taking the oath of the Member of the House of Representatives, he said, adding that not taking the oath in the name of God, people and country was another deviation.
At a time when the country was implementing the federal system, the Office of the Prime Minister was concentrating power, the Spokesperson said, accusing the government of taking constitution amendment as a bargaining tool.
According to him, it was double standard of the government to show only negative sides of the economy in the white paper, while showing the dream of achieving double digit economic grow in the policy and programmes.
Another malpractice of the government as the Spokesperson Sharma argued was to leave judiciary without leadership. It is injustice to the judiciary to not appoint Chief Justice for such long time.
Moreover, he said the behaviour the government showed during the visit of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi denuded its rhetoric of nationalism.
The government employees were discouraged, and the prices of goods were not contained.
There was good policy but lacked programmes in the policy and programme brought recently by the government, according to Sharma.
He however said the government would get support from the opposition for the good works it carries out.
