All workers to come under social security ambit in a year: Minister Bista

Kathmandu, May 25 : Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Gokarna Bista, has said the government was working actively to create employments within the country, so that no Nepalis would be forced to go abroad for employment after five years.
Distributing prize set up by the National News Agency (RSS) chapter of Press Chautari Nepal and releasing the ‘Barpak’, an anthology of poems by RSS Executive Editor Shyam Rimal, at a programme jointly organised by RSS Chapter of Press Chautari Nepal and Press Centre Nepal here today, Minister Bista said that all the workers working in formal and informal sectors would be brought under the ambit of social security within a year.
He further said, “The government is accelerating its activities to ensure the realization of change to the people.”
Clarifying that the government’s policies and programmes were for people’s prosperity, Minister Bista said that the 100-day activities of the government have clearly shown that the country would move ahead towards the path of prosperity and Nepali people could pride on it.
He also expressed commitment that the Ministry would play appropriate role for the social security and proper wages to working journalists, expressing satisfaction for RSS activities as the news bank.
Similarly, Central Chairperson of Press Centre Nepal, Maheshwor Dahal, said that RSS had played significant contribution as the news bank, adding that it should carry out activities being more active in the days ahead.
Chairperson of Press Chautari Nepal Ganesh Basnet pointed out the need of disseminating balanced and credible news. He also suggested that state-owned media should disseminate news in favour of nation and prosperity of the people.
Likewise, RSS Chairman Kul Chandra Wagle said that RSS would remain as the authorized news agency and news bank while RSS General Manager Opendra Sharma and Deputy General Manager Surendra Nepali said that priority would be given to the news of remote areas in days ahead as RSS is the news source for huge number of media across the country.
