Baitedi, Oct 14 : Civil servants based at various government offices in Baitedi have not received their salary, thus depriving them of celebrating the Dashain festival.
Since the formation of the provincial government, employees of some offices have not been paid for the past three months.
Not being paid on the eve of Dashain has become a great problem for us, says acting chief of Agriculture Knowledge Centre Baitedi Karna Bahadur Chand. The Centre falls under the authority of the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives.
Likewise, the staffers at the Veterinary Hospital and the Livestock Expert Centre in Patan Baitedi also have not received their salary. “We have now lost hope of getting paid before Dashain,” said technician at the office Bisan Bista. The Division Forest Office and the then Soil Conservation Office have also not provided salary to its employees.
“So far we have not received the authority to sanction salary amount to the four offices under the provincial government,” assistant information officer at the Comptroller’s Office said.
