Former Chief Justice Karki’s book released

Kathmandu, Sept. 23 : Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki’s autobiography ‘Nyaya’ has hit the
 bookstands from Saturday. Karki’s book was released amidst a function in the capital.

Karki has recorded the memories of her college life; experiences of Banaras in India; the ups and downs during her service in the judiciary; corruption; efforts made by others to weaken the organs of the judiciary; crisis of integrity in the society and many more.
On the occasion, Karki claimed that she has written the weaknesses and efforts of reforms in the judiciary in her book adding that democracy could flourish only in the independent judiciary.
Claiming that she has not written anything about others with the intention to dishearten them, the CJ turned writer opined that independent and brave justices were needed in the judiciary.
During the book launching programme, educationist Kedar Bhakta Mathema termed Karki as a fearless justice with honesty and integrity.
Likewise, Karki’s husband Durga Subedi praised the tenure of Karki saying that she made crucial contribution to the judiciary. The book is sold for Rs 900, the publisher said.
