ANFA adopts federal structure

Kumar Chaulagain /Sauraha (Chitwan), Aug 15 : The 17th extraordinary general meeting of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has decided to adopt a federal structure for the Association.

Accordingly, a 15-member ad hoc committee will be formed in all the seven provinces and leadership handed over after holding general assembly within the next six months. The central committee will form the ad hoc committee.
The extraordinary assembly that concluded here today also amended the ANFA statute along with financial regulations meant for financial transparency. The functioning regulations and employee administration regulations were also endorsed, said ANFA spokesperson Kiran Rai.
The ANFA has also begun a system of registering players online and setting up a revolving fund for their career development. A district-level football league will be initiated which will lead to the province and then to the national league after the ANFA President’s cup tournament.

Meanwhile, the number of votes in ANFA has been increased to 92 from the existing 77. This is a result of the amended statute that provides voting rights to an additional four members from C division clubs, two from B division and the top four in the provincial league. Five district associations are also to be added. Every district association will have one vote each.
A total of 300 delegates including district association representatives, A, B and C division clubs, trainers and referee and AFC representatives took part in the extraordinary assembly held after a new leadership was elected to head the ANFA.
