NC in ‘wait and see’ situation: senior leader Poudel

Chitwan, July 18 : Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel said that the recent stir of the NC is merely symbolic.

Talking to journalists here today, Poudel made it clear that the NC has resorted to the stir expressing discontent on the recent activities of the government. Poudel went on saying that the NC would come up with further programmes of protest after observing the government’s move following the symbolic protest of the party.
He claimed that the main opposition has to intensify agitation protesting the incumbent government’s decision to reverse the decisions of the erstwhile government, failure to come up with effective measures to save the life of Govinda KC and inability to check price hike and corruption.
NC would continually stand in favour of the people’s livelihoods, he said, adding that the party now is in ‘wait and see’ mood.
“The government was formed recently. It is not sane to demonstrate intolerance in the name of opposition”, he added. Leader Poudel also expressed displeasure over the government’s move on ambassador appointment process. He accused the government of breaching constitutional provision in regard to the appointment of envoys.
