Singer Baniya to be conferred with Bataju Memorial Music Prize

Pokhara, June 20 : The Lalitkumar Helkumari Bataju Memorial Music Prize, 2075 is to be given to Pokhara-based singer Binod Baniya.
The prize managed by Music Training Centre, Pokhara, carries a purse of Rs 30,000 and a copper plaque. Coordinator of the selection committee Tirtha Shrestha said that Pokhara-based singer Baniya was recommended for the prize for his proactive roles continuously for more than 15 years. Baniya has a number of songs and album in his credit.
The prize is given in every two years and Chandra Bahadur Bataju was prized prior to this.
