Rajbiraj, June 7 : A person has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife here at Bodebarasain municipality – 3 of Saptari district.
A single bench led by Justice Shyam Sundar Adhikari handed out the sentence to 42 – year – old Jaya Prakash Yadav. He is convicted for killing his 40 – year – old wife Lalita Devi Yadav.
Yadav killed his wife on November 14 by slitting her throat at a field belonging to one Jogendra Godahan Yadav at Bobebarasain – 3.
20 arrested for power hooking
Meanwhile, Nepal Electricity Authority Distribution Centre in Rajbiraj on Wednesday arrested 20 individuals for stealing electric power.
A joint inspection team from NEA and the District Police Office arrested them from various locations for power hooking, NEA Centre’s Chief Chandra Narayan Sah said.
Sah added that police also confiscated three sets of water-drawing motors, two LD television sets and two laptops. They were made to cough up Rs 15,502, Sah added.
