Less budget allocated for judiciary: Acting CJ

Kathmandu, May 31 : Acting Chief Justice Dipak Raj Joshi has said that the budget allocated to the judiciary was insufficient.
Inaugurating a workshop organized by Kathmandu School of Law on Thursday, the Acting Chief Justice said that the budget allocated to the judiciary was less than the last year’s budget though the government sought the judiciary’s demand for this budget.
Joshi said that the functions of the judiciary have been affected for lack of sufficient budget and added that the judiciary was in the status to seek donors’ support even to carry out a minor programme. “One percent of the entire budget should be allocated to the judiciary,” he added.
