Chief Minister, Minister and Speaker of province no 4 sworn-in

Pokhara : Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung, Speaker Netranath Adhikari and Minister Ram Sharan Basnet of province no 4 took oath of office and secrecy today.

State Chief Baburam Kunwar administered oath of office and secrecy to them at a programme organised at Pokhara-based official residence of the State Chief.
Present on the occasion were senior-most member of Provincial Assembly, Janaklal Shrestha, members of House of Representatives and National Assembly, representatives of political parties, State Chief Secretary Laxman Aryal, high-ranking officials of security bodies and media persons.
Two-member cabinet
Chief Minister Gurung has formed two-member cabinet today itself.
On the occasion, State Secretary Devi Prasad Gywali informed that a letter regarding formation of cabinet was received from the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers and he read out the copy of the letter.
In the newly-formed cabinet, Ram sharan Basnet has been given the portfolio of ministry of industry, tourism, forestry and environment while Chief Minister Gurung has himself taken the portfolio of other ministries in the Province No. 4. Minister Basnet also took the oath of office and secrecy today itself.
The first meeting of the newly formed cabinet is now taking place at the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers.
Similarly, newly appointed Chief Minister Gurung, Minister Basnet and Speaker Adhikari assumed the office today.
Speaker Adhikari assumed the office after garlanding the statutes of martyrs at Pardi-based Martyrs’ Park while Chief Minister Subba and Minister Basnet are scheduled to garland the statute of Pushpalal at Pushpalal Memorial Park today itself.
