Mark Democracy Day as constitution implementation day: Minister Basnet

Kathmandu : Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet has urged all to mark the coming Democracy Day as the day of the implementation of constitution and federal system.
During a meeting of the publicity subcommittee of the Democracy Day main celebration committee in the Ministry Thursday, Minister Basnet observed, “The 68th Democracy Day being celebrated this year bears historic significance in terms of the implementation of the constitution and federal system. It is a matter of happiness. Now, the country has made headway to economic progress. So, we can celebrate this Democracy Day as the day to exchange jubilation.”
Also the Spokesperson of the government, Minister Basnet directed the chiefs of the subordinate agencies to spread the message that the Democracy Day was being marked as the special day.
The publicity subcommittee was formed under the chairmanship of Minister Basnet. He further told the chiefs of the agencies not to limit the Day as a formal programme.
On the occasion, Minister of State for Information and Communications, Tapta Bahadur Bista, said time has come for all to make the students aware of the importance of this historic day.
Ministry Secretary Kedar Bahadur Adhikari told the line agencies to make the publicity of the day giving utmost importance.
General Manager of the National News Agency (RSS), Opendra Sharma, informed at the meeting that the RSS would disseminate the news, feature stories, photos and audio clips with high priority on the day.
Other agencies also shared their dissemination plan at the meeting.
