IT development key to nation’s development: Minister Basnet

Kathmandu : Minister for Information and Communications, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, has said the development of information and technology was vital for overall development of the nation.
Opening the 15th National Technological Fest organised by the Institute of Engineering (Pulchowk Campus) here today, the Minister said, “The government accords top priority to the technology development in the nation.”
According to him, works were afoot to ensure free computer education to every district within the next three years and the Pashupati and Swayambhunath areas in Kathmandu being developed as a free Wi-fi zone.
He, also the government Spokesperson was of the view of creating more employment opportunities at home to discourage youths to move out of the country in search of overseas jobs.
The three-day fest has showcased around 150 stalls relating to engineering and technology.
