Police has no right to seek news source, FNJ says

Kathmandu : The Federation of Nepalis Journalist (FNJ) has said that its serious attention was drawn to the move of Nepal Police to write to some media outlets seeking their news source.
Issuing a press note on Sunday, the FNJ said that the police has no right to seek sources of disseminated news contents.
“Such types of incidents impede exercise of press freedom,” reads the statement.
Likewise, the FNJ has demanded sides concerned to make environment wherein such cases will not repeat.
