No possibility of STV system in National Assembly election: Chair Dahal

Chitwan . CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that party unification between CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre) has reached the final step.

At a programme organized by Nepal Intellectual Council and Nepal Intellectual Organisation, Chitwan, here today to congratulate the newly elected parliamentarians, Dahal, who was elected MP from Chitwan, said that people’s mandate have already approved the unity between the two parties.

Saying that both parties would not backtrack from the decision to become one, he said, “We have moved ahead by breaking the bridge and hence have no way to return back.”

Chair Dahal also informed that he telephoned CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Saturday and this morning and held talks regarding how to unite the parties at the earliest. “There is no possibility of single transferable vote system in National Assembly election and it will be better if there is representation of Nepali Congress, which will remain in the opposition,” he said.
