Local level elections in Province No. 2 on September 18

Kathmandu : The government has decided to hold the local level elections in Province No. 2 on September 18.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Gopal Man Shrestha, a meeting of the Council of Ministers held today in Singha Durbar decided to conduct the polls in September in the Province No. 2 as per the request of the Rastriya Janata Party, Nepal.
Likewise, the meeting has decided to ask the Election Commission (EC) to make arrangements for candidates’ nomination from June 16 for the purpose of the polls to be held on June 28.
It is said that the date for nomination was put back by two days to bring the RJP Nepal on board the polls in the second phase of local level elections.
As the agitating RJP, Nepal snubbed to take part in the upcoming polls scheduled for June 28 in Province No. 1, 2, 5 and 7 until their demands were met, the ruling parties had agreed to hold the elections in Province No. 2 in the third phase.
