NEA delegates officials to board of directors of 10 hydel project companies

Kathmandu : The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has assigned members to the board of directors of its various subordinate 10 companies set up to help in the construction of hydro-power projects and sale of electricity.
The companies having members of their board of directors include the National Hydro-power Company, Nepal Engineering Consultant and Nepal Power Trading Company.
NEA’s Executive Director Kulman Ghising will remain as chairman and coordinator of the board of directors of all the companies while representatives each from the Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Ltd and the Electricity Production Company will be the members.
Likewise, NEA directors Manoj Silwal and Gynendra Man Joshi have been delegated as member of the board of directors of Tamakoshi V Hydroelectricity Project. NEA’s acting deputy executive directors Mohan Ratna Shakya and Kashendra Yadav are members of the board of directors of Dudhkoshi hydropower project.
Similarly, NEA’s Spokesperson Prabal Adhikari and Jagdishworman Shrestha have been assigned as members of the board of directors of the Power Trading while Mohan Ratna Shakya and Hitendra Dev Shakya are members of the board of director of the Engineering Company.
This is the first time that NEA’s high level employees have been assigned as members of the board of directors of the companies and their chief executive officer will be appointed once the board of directors gets full-shaped, said Adhikari.
